Animatic

Image
We used Final Cut Pro in order to create our animatic storyboard. In order to create this, we increased the shadows and intensity of our scanned storyboards and cropped each shot then added on the timeline. We used the cop tool on Photoshop in order to save each shot as an individual image. The animatic was cut in the same way we are hoping to cut each shot when we start filming the full video. The timings also matched with the song and the types of shots they were going to be in connotation with the lyrics and narrative.

Website

We created a website for our fictional artist as during our research and planning we found that the majority of artists have their own website which contains a little bit about themselves, tour dates and especially for country they usually have links to their merch. We included a small biography about who Luke Meadows is with his interests alongside images. I think that having a website makes the artist seem more real, especially with how we are going to be updating it with new content throughout this course. LINK: https://ahawa142.wixsite.com/website

“Country” Isn’t a Single Format

“Country” Isn’t a Single Format Unlike all other mainstream genres, the term country genre isn’t very specific. This is because there are so many sub-genres which people need to recognize as they say the term “country” These sub-genres have mainly developed around the progression of music and how different genres are now more popular than others which means that country needs to do something to continue growing and appealing to a variety of different people. A radio station in Houston called Cox Media has recognised the different sub-genres as well as their customer base. The three most popular are: 1.        Country – This is predominantly the most widely listened to type of country music. It includes features such as cowboys, fishing, western swings and bluegrass. Usually listeners of this sub-genre are older and more traditional than their counterparts. 2.        Hit/New Country – This evolves mainly around pop. The type of music this sub-genre creates and its listeners a

UK Tribes

Image
UK Tribes Usually to identify a target audience and what tribe they belong to in the UK we use UK Tribes. However, after some intensive research, we figured that UK Tribes do not have a section or tribe for country-listeners as country music hasnt been identified as appealing to young listeners yet however, this figure is growing. Therefore, I had to use other sources of information to do my research such as demographics of country listeners in the UK and current artists who still carry a country background. The country genre is still classed as very niche genre across the UK, this is because it’s not as popular as other mainstream genres such as pop or Hip-Hop/Indie like it used to be years ago. BBC Radio 2 has been a massive influencer in distributing country music to mass audiences, as they usually promote upcoming bands and artists within the genre. The current listeners of this channel will have a strong country background or at least have some interest in it. They pay Nashvi

Music/ Music Video Inspiration

Image
Rodney Atkins- Take A Back Road This song is all shot outside and is based around a country song coming on that makes him want to take a back road, when the song comes on the mood of the piece changes this gives the piece a nice up beat feeling and there for gets the audience’s attention. I also like the way that most of the shots are taken outside this give the shots this real feeling like he was actually performing in these locations, I believe that this element makes the video very effective and keeps the users attention on the video.  Blake Shelton- Who Are You When I'm Not Looking  I find this song very inspirational due to the meaning of the song, this is shown through the lyrics and also the way in which Blake Shelton is singing.  The video also helps to make the meaning of the song more powerful as it shows Blake Shelton singing and playing the song on his bed in a dark room this adds tension and makes you really focus in on the lyrics. There is also a narrative e
